eTrader Code: Robots Your Traders Write Themselves.

Algo trading your clients write themselves. Traders write a robot or an indicator, test it on your firm's real price history, then run it in the cloud with their computer off.

A trader with a strategy usually ends up in one of two places. Either they sit at the screen and click every entry by hand, or they rent a remote server somewhere, install a platform on it and hope it is still running on Monday. Neither is good for your firm. The first trader gets tired and trades less. The second one has part of their setup living outside your platform, on a machine you never see.

eTrader Code is a third option, and it sits inside eTrader.

What eTrader Code Is

eTrader Code is where traders on your platform write their own trading robots and indicators. It opens in any browser at code.etraderweb.com and also comes as a Mac app. Traders sign in with their eTrader ID and write in Tide, eTrader's own trading language.

Your firm does not install anything or switch anything on for them. A client who wants to automate a strategy opens a page and starts writing.

Writing: Mistakes Show Up as They Type

Nobody finds out at the end that line forty was wrong. eTrader Code flags a mistake while the trader is still typing, so they fix a broken rule while the idea is fresh in their head.

Work saves itself about a second after they stop typing. Every file is kept on the trader's eTrader ID until they delete it, so the robot they started in the Mac app at home is waiting in the browser at the office. If they edited the same file in two places, eTrader Code asks which version to keep instead of quietly overwriting one. Losing an evening of work to a closed tab is the kind of thing that makes people give up on automation. Here it does not happen.

Testing on Your Firm's Real Prices

Before a robot touches a live account, the trader can backtest it. The tester runs on your firm's own price history: the trader connects their trading account at your firm once, and the test reads the symbols and candles that account really trades.

The result is a backtest with an equity curve and every trade listed. The trader sees where the strategy made money, where it gave it back, and how deep the drawdowns went. We think that matters to a firm as much as to the trader. Someone who has watched a strategy lose on paper arrives at a live account with fewer surprises, and has fewer reasons to blame the platform when a bad week comes.

For the firm: the test runs on your prices, not a generic data set from somewhere else. What a trader sees in the backtest is built from the same feed your clients trade on.

Running in the Cloud With the Computer Off

A finished robot runs in the cloud on the trader's account at your firm. The trader can close the laptop, get on a plane or go to sleep, and the robot keeps working. There is no remote server to rent and no remote desktop to log into at midnight.

Everything is managed from the eTrader web terminal. A Files menu holds two tabs. Indicators can be added to a chart or removed, and Bots lists the robots a trader has configured, with a single button to stop all of them at once. Their indicators draw right next to the built-in ones and use the same settings sheet, so a custom indicator feels like part of the terminal. On a phone, a trader can switch an indicator on or off from the chart; managing files stays on the desktop.

eTrader is hosted in the cloud by SINGUARD, built to scale across clustered servers as firms grow. The robots your traders start are not something your team hosts, patches or watches over.

Why It Matters to a Broker or Prop Firm

Algo traders are some of the most engaged clients a firm can have. They spend hours on a strategy, test it, adjust it and test again. With eTrader Code, all of those hours happen inside your platform, on your prices, under your firm's name in the broker list.

The trading happens there too. A robot that runs in the cloud trades on the account at your firm around the clock, whether or not the trader is at a screen. Compare that with a trader whose automation lives on a rented server: one expired subscription or one crashed machine, and their activity stops without anyone telling you.

It also takes a support problem off your desk. Your team never has to explain how to set up a remote server, and never gets the ticket that starts with "my robot stopped overnight and I don't know why."

eTrader Code is included in eTrader. There is no separate product to buy or licence to track. You can see how the rest of the platform fits together in What Is eTrader?, and how a firm gets a quote in eTrader pricing.

"A trader who has spent a month building a robot on your prices has a good reason to keep trading with your firm. We built eTrader Code so that month happens on your platform."

Key Takeaways

Frequently Asked Questions

Do My Traders Need to Know How to Program?

They need to be comfortable writing down the rules of a strategy. eTrader Code points out mistakes while they type and saves their work on its own, but it is a place to write robots and indicators, so it suits traders who are willing to learn.

Does My Firm Have to Host Anything for Robots to Run?

No. eTrader is hosted in the cloud by SINGUARD, built to scale across clustered servers as firms grow. A robot keeps running in the cloud on the trader's account at your firm after they close the laptop, and neither your team nor the trader rents or maintains a server.

Is eTrader Code an Extra Cost?

No. eTrader Code is included in the platform. There is no separate licence to buy for it.
