Bahrain has one regulator for the whole financial sector, which is unusual and, for a founder, genuinely useful. It means the conversation about what your firm is permitted to do happens in one place rather than three. The technology conversation should be just as short, and for most firms in Manama it is not.
SINGUARD is a software company. We are not a broker, bank, payment institution, law firm or advisor, and we hold no licence, office, entity or staff in Bahrain. What we do is supply and run the trading platform and the back office that a Manama broker or proprietary trading firm operates on, with the firm keeping its own permissions, client money and compliance obligations.
Who this page is written for
People starting or running a brokerage from Manama, and people building a prop firm here. Bahrain's position as a base for Gulf-facing financial business means a lot of firms serve clients across several countries from a small local team, which puts the weight on the back office rather than on headcount. If you are still choosing the model, broker versus prop firm compares the obligations rather than the marketing.
The regulatory backdrop
The Central Bank of Bahrain, the CBB, supervises banking, insurance and investment business in the Kingdom as a single regulator, with a rulebook structure covering the different categories of licensee. Firms operating from Bahrain establish which category their activity falls under with their own counsel, and firms serving clients outside the Kingdom often hold a separate licence for that book. Related mechanics are in capital requirements for brokers, broker licence costs compared and regulated versus unregulated brokers.
Descriptive only. SINGUARD holds no Bahraini authorisation, gives no legal, regulatory or investment advice, and never holds client funds. Licensing, AML, client money and marketing permissions stay with the operating firm.
What SINGUARD provides
The stack is three products designed to work as one, all fully managed by us.
- eTrader: the trading platform on web, iOS and Android, with charting, orders, positions, alerts and its own market data feed built in.
- Broker CRM: client lifecycle, KYC queues, deposits and withdrawals, account creation, IB structures and desk reporting.
- Prop Firm CRM: challenges, phases, the rule engine, breach records, trader dashboards and payout approvals.
We host, update, monitor and support all of it, so nobody at your firm has to become a platform engineer. Once your own licensing and paperwork are done, the software side is live in 24 hours. That figure refers to our work only. No vendor can speed up a regulator.
Payments, clients and hours in Bahrain
Bahraini firms usually run a payment mix rather than a single processor: local card acquiring, bank transfer in dinar for local clients, and correspondent or crypto rails for the regional and international book. Approval rates and settlement times vary enough by rail that most desks route by client type, which is the point of payment approval rates and crypto payments for trading firms. Account opening for a trading firm is its own project, covered in banking for trading firms. Whatever you sign, SINGUARD integrates it and stays out of the money flow.
Arabic and English both matter, and so does right-to-left layout done properly rather than a translation dropped into a left-to-right template. Both CRMs and the platform run multi-language per client, with support agents able to work in a different language from the one the client sees. KYC review queues follow the same logic, and the levels are explained in KYC verification levels.
Manama sits three hours ahead of London in winter. The practical effect is that the busiest client hours are the local evening, so support rotas are built backwards from the New York session rather than around office hours. Neighbouring markets are covered on Doha and Riyadh, and the full set is on the locations index.
How firms here structure themselves
A common shape is a Bahraini operating company for staff, technology and regional marketing, with the client-facing licensed entity held wherever the firm's counsel places it, and payment relationships held separately again. The deployment follows the client-facing entity: your brand, your domain, your account structure. Clients never see SINGUARD, and we ask for nothing about your structure beyond what the deployment needs.
The people behind the software
eTrader was built by Alex Onta, with Roman Onta helping on the design side, and Alex leads it. The Prop Firm CRM, the Broker CRM, Scalegram and CopySignals were built by Alex Onta and Roman Onta together, and the two of them carry compliance, payments and corporate structuring together. Calls go to them.

Where SINGUARD is based, and where we meet firms in Manama
All of the software, the contracts and the policies come from SGHK Softwares Limited in Hong Kong, the holding company that builds and licenses eTrader and both CRMs. The team works out of Dubai, where both Executive Directors, Alex Onta and Roman Onta, live for most of the year, and our licensed UAE entity is SINGUARD GLOBAL FZC in Ajman Free Zone. We hold no office or licence in Bahrain, and none is needed: the platform is delivered and managed from our own clustered servers, so a firm in Manama runs exactly what a firm anywhere else runs, and your licence, your client money and your compliance obligations stay entirely with your own entity.
Being in Dubai keeps the team on the industry circuit and within easy reach of Manama for calls and meetings, in a time zone that overlaps most of the trading world.
In person, the place to find us is the industry circuit. The team attends Forex Expo Dubai and the other major shows, wearing the SINGUARD and eTrader shirts, and you can walk up without an appointment, ask for a live demo of the terminal and both CRMs, and talk to the Executive Directors directly in English, Italian, Romanian or Russian. See where to find us at the expo.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is SINGUARD licensed or established in Bahrain?
No. SINGUARD has no office, entity, staff or licence in Bahrain. We are a software company serving firms in the Manama market remotely, and the team travels to industry events in the Gulf.
Which regulator supervises investment firms in Bahrain?
The Central Bank of Bahrain, the CBB, is the single regulator for banking, insurance and investment business in the Kingdom, and it authorises and supervises firms across those categories. Whether and how a particular activity is covered is a matter for the firm's own legal counsel.
Can the platform be branded as our Bahrain firm?
Yes. eTrader, the client portal and both CRMs run under your firm's brand and domain. Clients in Manama see your name, not ours, and SINGUARD stays a software supplier behind it.
How quickly can a Manama firm start trading on the platform?
The software goes live in 24 hours once the firm's own licensing, banking and documentation are settled. Hosting, updates, monitoring and support are fully managed by SINGUARD from then on.
