A trading firm in Mexico City lives on two clocks. The desk works Central Time, an hour behind New York for part of the year, so the US open lands mid morning and the day ends while Europe is asleep. The payments side lives on SPEI, which settles between Mexican bank accounts in minutes during operating hours and sets the standard your clients will hold you to when they ask for a withdrawal.
This page is for founders and operators building a brokerage or a prop firm from Mexico City: what SINGUARD provides, what remains your firm's job, and the local detail that decides how the operation actually runs.
The regulatory backdrop in Mexico
Banks and brokerage houses, the casas de bolsa, are supervised by the CNBV, the Comision Nacional Bancaria y de Valores, with Banco de Mexico responsible for monetary policy and the payment system, and CONDUSEF handling financial consumer protection. The 2018 fintech law brought electronic payment institutions and crowdfunding platforms into a licensed regime, which is where most payment providers serving trading firms sit. Retail leveraged foreign exchange and CFD products are not the domestic securities market's home ground, so groups selling those to Mexican clients usually hold their operating licence elsewhere and keep a Mexican company for marketing, support and technology.
SINGUARD is not a broker, a bank, a payment institution or an adviser, and gives no legal or regulatory advice. Authorisation, client money and compliance are your firm's, with your counsel. The software's part is the evidence trail: audit logs on every account and rule change, per client statements, exportable transaction reporting and a portal that keeps verification documents attached to the client record. If you are comparing structures, offshore broker licences and how to check a broker licence are worth reading first.
What SINGUARD supplies
- eTrader, the trading platform: web and native apps, charting, order entry, the price and data feed, and the broker dashboard your dealing desk watches. Built by Alex Onta with Roman Onta on the design, and led by Alex.
- The Broker CRM: onboarding and verification, deposits and withdrawals across your connected rails, accounts and groups, markups and swaps per instrument, partner tracking and reporting.
- The Prop Firm CRM: challenge products, the rules engine measuring drawdown and consistency against live account state, certificates, payouts and the trader dashboard.
- Full management: hosting, patching, monitoring and support from us, so no platform engineering team is needed on your side.
Alex Onta and Roman Onta built both CRMs together and carry compliance, payments and corporate structuring between them. Once your own licensing and paperwork are in place, the platform can be live within 24 hours.
SINGUARD has no Mexican office, entity, licence or staff. We serve firms in the Mexico City market as a software vendor from outside the country, and the team travels to industry events. Licensing, client funds and compliance stay with your firm.
Payments and banking in the Mexican market
SPEI is the rail Mexican clients expect for bank transfers, and CoDi sits alongside it for QR based consumer payments. Cards are widely used but approval behaviour varies sharply by issuer, and a firm that routes everything through one acquirer will watch decline rates climb as volume grows. Cash deposit networks at convenience stores are still part of the picture for smaller ticket sizes in some segments. The pieces on payment approval rates and local payment methods explain why a second provider usually pays for itself.
Cross border movement is the slower half, as it is anywhere in Latin America: getting pesos out to a group account abroad means an authorised institution, documentation and a wait. Both CRMs are processor agnostic, so you connect the providers your firm has been approved for and the system reconciles them into a single ledger per client, in pesos, dollars or both.
Language, hours and firm structure
Spanish is the working language for clients and usually for the desk, with English needed for liquidity providers, processors and vendors. The portal, emails, certificates and notifications follow each client's own language setting, which lets one Mexico City installation serve Mexican clients in Spanish and clients elsewhere in their own language without a second system.
On hours, the daily cut is the detail worth checking. A platform whose reporting day closes on a European clock leaves your team reading stale numbers all morning. Statement cut-offs, session markers and challenge day boundaries follow the timezone you set, so the books close at your midnight and prop firm challenge days line up with how your traders actually count them.
Structurally, the common pattern is a Mexican company for people, marketing and support, with the licensed operating entity in another jurisdiction and clients contracted there. The software runs several brands, entities and separate books on one installation, which is the point where firms tend to consolidate vendors rather than add another.

Where SINGUARD is based, and where we meet firms in Mexico City
All of the software, the contracts and the policies come from SGHK Softwares Limited in Hong Kong, the holding company that builds and licenses eTrader and both CRMs. The team works out of Dubai, where both Executive Directors, Alex Onta and Roman Onta, live for most of the year, and our licensed UAE entity is SINGUARD GLOBAL FZC in Ajman Free Zone. We hold no office or licence in Mexico, and none is needed: the platform is delivered and managed from our own clustered servers, so a firm in Mexico City runs exactly what a firm anywhere else runs, and your licence, your client money and your compliance obligations stay entirely with your own entity.
Being in Dubai keeps the team on the industry circuit and within easy reach of Mexico City for calls and meetings, in a time zone that overlaps most of the trading world.
In person, the place to find us is the industry circuit. The team attends Forex Expo Dubai and the other major shows, wearing the SINGUARD and eTrader shirts, and you can walk up without an appointment, ask for a live demo of the terminal and both CRMs, and talk to the Executive Directors directly in English, Italian, Romanian or Russian. See where to find us at the expo.
