A founder in Almaty who wants to run a brokerage or a prop firm has two separate problems, and they get confused with each other constantly. One is the licence and the corporate wrapper. The other is the software the business actually runs on: the trading platform, the client portal, the back office, the payment plumbing. SINGUARD only solves the second one, and we solve it fast.
We are a software company. We have no office, no entity and no licence in Kazakhstan, and we never act as a broker, a bank or an adviser. What we do is build and host the systems that firms in Almaty use to trade, onboard clients and run challenges, and our team travels to the industry events where those founders show up.
Who this page is for
Two kinds of firms. The first is a retail brokerage: a company that wants its own branded trading platform, its own spreads and markups, and a back office where the dealing desk and the compliance staff can see the same account in one screen. The second is a prop firm: an evaluation business selling challenge accounts, with drawdown rules, payout approvals and a rules engine that has to be right the first time. If you are still deciding which of the two you are building, the difference between a broker and a prop firm is worth reading before you spend money on anything.
The regulatory backdrop in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has two financial regimes running side by side. Firms inside the Astana International Financial Centre are authorised by the Astana Financial Services Authority under the AIFC's own English-language legal framework and its own court and arbitration centre. Everything outside that perimeter falls under Kazakh national law, where the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market supervises licensed financial institutions and the National Bank sits over the currency side. A company registered in Almaty can hold an AIFC licence and operate from Almaty; the centre is a legal perimeter rather than a postcode.
That is a description, not advice. Which regime applies to your model, what activity category your business falls into and what capital you need are questions for Kazakh counsel and for the regulator itself. Some founders take the AIFC route because it is written in English and reads like a familiar international rulebook. Others start with an offshore licence and market outside the country, which is a different set of trade-offs covered in offshore broker licences and broker licence costs compared.
Licensing, client money and compliance stay with your firm at all times. We supply software. We do not hold client funds, we do not process payments as a principal, and we never sign anything that puts your regulatory obligations on us.
What SINGUARD supplies
Three products, one contract, fully managed by us.
eTrader is the trading platform: web, iOS and Android, with the market data feed included rather than billed as a separate line. Charts, order tickets, pending orders and alerts, your brand on the client-facing side. Your traders do not download a third-party terminal and your firm does not sit on a per-terminal licence renewal.
The Broker CRM is where the business is actually run: client records, KYC status, deposits and withdrawals, instrument and markup configuration per server, IB-free clean reporting, and the audit trail your compliance officer will be asked for. The Prop Firm CRM covers the evaluation side: challenge design, daily and overall drawdown, consistency rules, breach detection and payout approvals.
Once your own licensing and paperwork are in place, we can have you live in 24 hours. That is our side of the timeline. Nobody can promise you a regulator's timeline, and anyone who does is selling something.
Payments and banking, the honest version
This is where launches in the region stall. A new trading firm is a high-risk merchant category everywhere, and Kazakh founders usually end up with a stack rather than a single provider: a card acquirer, a local rail for tenge deposits, an international rail for anything cross-border, and often a stablecoin option for clients in neighbouring markets. Cross-border settlement still leans on correspondent banking, so read SEPA versus SWIFT and high-risk payment processing before you assume approval rates will look like a normal e-commerce business.
Our part is integration and reconciliation. Deposits, withdrawals, holds, failed attempts and settlement all land in the CRM with the client record attached, so nobody is exporting spreadsheets from three provider dashboards at month end. The merchant relationships are yours, signed by your entity.
Languages, hours and how firms here structure themselves
Almaty runs on UTC+5. That puts your desk online before the London session opens and gives you a working overlap with the Gulf, Turkey and South Asia, which is why a lot of firms built here serve clients well beyond Kazakhstan. Support and the client portal are usually needed in Russian and Kazakh, with English for institutional counterparties and often Turkish or Uzbek as the client base spreads. The platform and portal are multilingual, and the multilingual client portal explains how that is handled without maintaining four separate builds.
Structurally, the common pattern is a small founding team of two to five people, an operating company holding the licence, and everything technical outsourced. That works. It is the same shape we see in Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur, and you can see the rest of the markets we cover on the locations index.
Talk to us
Alex Onta built eTrader, with Roman Onta on the design side, and Alex leads it. Alex Onta and Roman Onta built the Prop Firm CRM, the Broker CRM, Scalegram and CopySignals together, and they carry compliance, payments and corporate structuring together. You will be speaking to them, not to a sales layer. Book a call or text us, describe the model you are building, and we will tell you plainly whether the software is a fit.
Where SINGUARD is based, and where we meet firms in Almaty
All of the software, the contracts and the policies come from SGHK Softwares Limited in Hong Kong, the holding company that builds and licenses eTrader and both CRMs. The team works out of Dubai, where both Executive Directors, Alex Onta and Roman Onta, live for most of the year, and our licensed UAE entity is SINGUARD GLOBAL FZC in Ajman Free Zone. We hold no office or licence in Kazakhstan, and none is needed: the platform is delivered and managed from our own clustered servers, so a firm in Almaty runs exactly what a firm anywhere else runs, and your licence, your client money and your compliance obligations stay entirely with your own entity.
Being in Dubai keeps the team on the industry circuit and within easy reach of Almaty for calls and meetings, in a time zone that overlaps most of the trading world.
In person, the place to find us is the industry circuit. The team attends Forex Expo Dubai and the other major shows, wearing the SINGUARD and eTrader shirts, and you can walk up without an appointment, ask for a live demo of the terminal and both CRMs, and talk to the Executive Directors directly in English, Italian, Romanian or Russian. See where to find us at the expo.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have an office in Almaty?
No. SINGUARD is a software company with no office, entity, staff or licence in Kazakhstan. We serve firms in Almaty remotely and our team travels to industry events across the region.
Which regulator covers a trading firm in Kazakhstan?
Firms inside the Astana International Financial Centre are authorised by the Astana Financial Services Authority. Outside that perimeter, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market supervises licensed financial institutions. Which applies to your model is a question for Kazakh counsel.
How fast can a firm in Almaty go live?
Once your own licensing, entity and paperwork are in place, we can have the platform and CRM live in 24 hours. We cannot give you a timeline for a regulator's decision, and no software vendor can.
Can the platform run in Russian and Kazakh?
Yes. The trading platform and the client portal are multilingual, so an Almaty firm can serve clients in Russian, Kazakh and English from the same deployment without maintaining separate builds.
