Delete Your eTrader Account & Data

This page explains how to remove your eTrader account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to the eTrader mobile apps (Android & iOS) and the web trading terminal, operated by SGHK Softwares Limited.

How to Delete Your Account

If you created a demo account on eTrader, you can delete it yourself, in the app, no email and no waiting. The other options below cover everything else.

  1. Delete your demo account in the app (fastest). Open Settings in the iOS app, the Android app or the web trading terminal, choose “Delete this demo account” and confirm. The account and its trading data are erased immediately and the login stops working at once. This option is shown only for demo accounts you created yourself; accounts opened with a broker do not show it.
  2. Remove an account from your device. In the eTrader app, open Settings → Accounts and tap the sign-out icon next to the account. This removes the account and its saved token from that device, but does not delete the account itself.
  3. Ask us to delete your data by email. Email office@sghk.org from your registered email address, with the subject “Delete my eTrader account”, and include your account login (number) and the email you registered with.

What Gets Deleted

Whether you delete the account in the app or ask us by email, we delete the account and the personal data we hold for it:

Demo accounts
The demo trading account you created in-app, its trading records (open positions, pending orders, history), price alerts, notifications and virtual balances are permanently deleted, along with any copytrading or Community links belonging to the account.
Personal data
The name and email address collected at demo sign-up, and any saved session and device tokens, are deleted, push notifications for that account stop.
Live broker accounts
Live trading accounts are opened and held by your chosen broker, not by SGHK. Deletion of a live account and its regulated records is handled by that broker, contact them directly. This page covers the eTrader software and the demo data SGHK holds.

Timing

Deleting a demo account in the app is immediate. Verified email requests are actioned within 30 days.

Data We May Retain

We keep a minimal security entry in our audit log recording that the deletion took place (the account identifier, the time and the originating IP address). We may also retain limited records where required by law or for fraud prevention, security and anti-money-laundering compliance (governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR). Retained records are kept only as long as required and are not used for any other purpose.

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. You will need to create a new account to use eTrader again.
